Healing Through Sound: An Introduction to Nada Yoga

to May 12

Healing Through Sound: An Introduction to Nada Yoga

Nada Yoga is the yoga ("union" or "connection") of nada ("sound," "tone," "resonance," "vibration"). As a practice, Nada Yoga helps us "retune" the connection between our inner and outer worlds. In our image-oriented and mind-driven society, with all our external distractions, we become scattered and overwhelmed. Sound and deep listening practices help you become balanced and "tuned in" to yourself and others.

This six-week introductory class will explore the power of sound-based yoga and meditation practices to open the voice and heart, reduce stress, increase focus, balance emotions and increase connection and clarity.

Prior yoga experience or an active body is not necessary.

You will learn:

·       Sound-based chakra physiology and psychology

·       Movement, breath and meditation practices

·       Deep listening techniques to bring clarity, focus, and calm

·       Fundamentals of kirtan (yogic singing/chanting)

·       History and science of mantra and sound vibration

Benefits of nada yoga practice include:

·       Decreased stress and anxiety

·       Skills to channel emotions in a healthy, uplifting way

·       Confidence and ability to express yourself vocally

·       Increased empathy and connection to self and others

Tapping into your abundant inner joy

Cost is $120 for the course, $25 per class  Register here:

Flowing Through Movement

Flowing Through Movement

Vinyasa movement is the transition of movement between postures.  During a Vinyasa class the work of flowing in and out of postures becomes just as important as the posture itself.  In this workshop we will spend time working with the fluidity of movement and motion between and during poses.  No postures will be held statically as we invite our bodies to move in any way or direction that feels good.  Total length of the workshop is two hours with a 75-90 min class flow.  Modifications for all levels will be given, and the only requirement is an open mind and spirit!

Cost $30.00 register here:  http://www.breathingroomyoga.net/new-products/flowing-through-movement

Friday, Feb. 17th with Cat Cantril - Burlesque 101

Self-empowerment is giving yourself the authority to be yourself, be happy with yourself, and be more confident in the process. This is vital in both our work and home lives.  Empowering yourself helps you overcome your own negative thoughts/feelings about your body, your mind and of course, your self-worth. What could you accomplish if you were more confident and secure about yourself in any setting? Cat will teach you how you can use burlesque to self-motivate, to be inspired and start loving yourself (or love yourself more). Cat will take this time to teach you the basics of the art and a routine you can show to all your friends.  Register here

Easing and Managing Anxeity

Easing and Managing Anxiety-with Krista Squires

Anxiety, especially among children, continues to rise every day. With what feels like chaos in the world around us, the pressure to be the "best", the demands of school, friends, family, it can be very challenging to stay rooted in the places where we feel steady and empowered…our breath, our bodies, our “center”, our joy, our souls.

Krista has spent years working with Anxiety, both as someone who suffered, sometimes severely, and as a holistic wellness provider looking to understand what it really is and why it's so prevalent. The truth is, we all have some degree of anxiety. Let's take the stigma out of the word and treat it as something we can learn to manage and integrate, just like any other emotion.

This workshop will include a variety of yoga, breathing techniques, tapping/eft, guided meditations, and other holistic tools that Krista has found to be helpful on her own personal journey.
